Waterproof It!

Waterproof materials are very important when traveling. It gives you peace of mind that your valuables and equipment are protected. I do a lot of backpack island traveling in the Philippines and no matter what month I am traveling, it would rain at random. Having waterproof cases for my camera gear and laptop is a priority. Backpacking is the best way to travel and doing so means that most of the time you have all of your stuff with you. Whether you’re driving a motorbike during a storm or on a boat for island hopping, preparedness to face all the elements gives you freedom to explore and enjoy your travel activities.

I made water repellent laptop sleeves using tarpaulin. I picked the designs and got it printed for very cheap. Printing on tarpaulin cost me 100 Pesos ($2.03) and sewing with the zippers cost me 150 Pesos ($3.50).
